da fazobetai: Former Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas has said that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho should drop Alexis Sanchez from his first XI.
da brdice: Sanchez moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal during the January transfer window in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan switch in the opposite direction.
There was much anticipation about Sanchez’s arrival in Manchester, but the Chilean has struggled to make his mark with the 20-time English champions.
Indeed, the 29-year-old has only managed one goal for the Red Devils, and was again disappointing in United’s shock Champions League elimination to Sevilla on Tuesday night.
Nicholas has claimed that Sanchez has disrupted the flow of a number of United players, and the attacker should now be dropped for Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Nicholas told Sky Sports:
“At the start of the season, Manchester United had a fluency to them. Paul Pogba played high up with Jesse Lingard behind him and Romelu Lukaku on his game.
“All of a sudden Sanchez comes, Marcus Rashford gets dropped out and Anthony Martial gets moved over. All of a sudden the whole team is getting squeezed to fit Sanchez in.
“Sanchez, at the moment, does not deserve to be in the team. It’s too individual. He is giving the ball away too often.”
Sanchez, who is valued at £63m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has been criticised by a number of United supporters following Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Sevilla.
