da fezbet： As per a tweet from the Daily Telegraph journalist, the uncertainty with the proposed takeover at St James’ Park by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) group, the pending arbitration case between the club and the Premier League, and the talk of investment from the Saudis ‘will almost certainly’ keep the 60-year-old in the job as long as the Magpies avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Newcastle close to Premier League safety
The Magpies are now very close to securing their top-flight status having recorded back-to-back wins against Burnley and West Ham United, which could result in Bruce keeping his job unless there is significant progression in the takeover saga.
The prospective new owners may want a new face at the helm to take Newcastle into a new era if the bid were to eventually go through, and so Bruce could fall victim in that case.
However, until that actually comes into fruition, it is likely that the former Manchester United defender will stay on as manager at the Toon, especially if he manages to secure their safety in the Premier League for another season.
With Edwards adding that Bruce is unlikely to resign after turning the tide recently in the face of enormous pressure, and doing ‘all Ashley wants him to do’ in terms of keeping them in the top flight, the 60-year-old can probably feel safe in his role for now.
