da brwin: According to reports from 90min, Leeds United are one of several clubs that are interested in a move for Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen.
However, an update from The Atheltic’s Leeds United correspondent after the Whites’ 2-0 win against the Tigers earlier in this week suggests that one of United’s promotion rivals are the front-runners for the winger’s signature.
Indeed, Phil Hay stated that there have been whispers that Bowen could be on his way to West Brom in January, but rather than being deterred by extra interest in the winger, the Whites should be spurred on even more to go all out in an attempt to make this signing.
Bowen would undoubtedly strengthen West Brom, and with the Baggies also sitting 11 points clear of third place, adding a player of his quality would make them heavy favourites for promotion.
The wide man has become a Championship star in recent times, scoring 14 times this season. Added to that, he netted 22 in 2018/19.
Leeds would be able to kill two birds with one stone by signing Bowen as it would strengthen their own team, while also stopping their biggest promotion rivals from acquiring one of the division’s best players.
If Bowen was set to go to a Premier League side it may have been time for Leeds to forget about that one, but he’s seemingly open to staying in the second tier, and it makes all the sense in the world for Leeds to go all out to try and secure his services.
Meanwhile, Leeds have been linked with a signing that could solve one big problem Bielsa has recently faced.
