da casino: According to The Sun, Manchester United will allow Scott McTominay to leave the club on loan during the January transfer window, and Leeds United should ensure that they win the race for the midfielder.
What’s the word, then?
Leeds have made a strong start to the 2018-19 Championship season, with a total of 23 points from 12 matches leaving them in third position in the division.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have actually only won one of their last four in the second tier, however, and there is no question that they would benefit from January additions.
Leeds were linked with a move for McTominay during the summer transfer window, but the midfielder ultimately remained at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, United are now prepared to allow the 21-year-old to leave, and Leeds should ensure that they win the race for his signature at the start of 2019.
Why should Leeds move for McTominay?
McTominay certainly benefitted from injuries to Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini last season, and he looked at home in each of his four Champions League appearances, which is some going for a player of limited experience.
The three-time Scotland international has also made four first-team appearances for United this term, but his form has been criticised.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has twice played McTominay in central defence this term, but he was replaced at the interval of United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle United before the international break.
Samuel Saiz and Mateusz Klich have both impressed in the Leeds midfield this season, and McTominay is certainly capable of complementing the pair at Elland Road.
The 6ft 4in ace has had a tough time in recent weeks, but he would certainly make a huge difference to Leeds’ chances of earning promotion to the Premier League.
