da brwin: As reported by The Daily Record, Rangers are chasing three foreign stars that Pedro Caixinha believes can improve his first team ahead of next season.
What’s the story?
da fezbet: The transfer window rumour mill is in overdrive and for Rangers fans that’s a more crucial time than usual as they hope new manager Caixinha can work some of his global contacts to bring in some top foreign talent to Ibrox.
The Daily Record report that not only is an agreement in place for Mexican star Carlos Pena, but that the Light Blues are also targeting the defensive duo of Fabio Cardoso and Jose Abella.
Cardoso, who plays for Vitoria Setubal, has opened up a little about a potential switch, although has admitted no contact has yet been made by Rangers.
As quoted by The Record, the central defender said:
I’m calm about my future but every player wants to improve. I’ve seen the reports and I’ve heard good information about Caixinha. But I haven’t spoken to anyone at Rangers.
While non-committal, it certainly sounds like he is keen and The Record reckon his representatives will be in Glasgow this week to discuss a deal. However, the paper also say that Caixinha faces competition from Malaga for his services and that he would have to convince Ibrox chiefs to shell out £1.2m for the star.
All the names being linked with Rangers right now offer an exciting vision for Rangers fans to get behind, who have had to endure poor seasons from the likes of Rob Kiernan, Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn this season.
