da stake casino: Jamie Carragher has spoken out in defence of Roy Hodgson, ahead of Sunday’s visit of Blackpool.
da 888casino: The Liverpool stalwart has spoken out, as pressure is seemingly mounting around the Reds boss following a series of poor displays and results. Carragher says Hodgson’s critics have short memories and should remember that both Houllier and Benitez took time to settle on Anfield.
“We are only seven or eight games into the new set-up and I have been here before with new managers. People have short memories. They forget that when Rafa Benitez and Gerard Houllier came, their first seasons were difficult.
“Roy should be given the same time they had. Every manager has his own ideas and we have to get used to them.”
Carragher also went onto to defend the form of Fernando Torres:
“If you give Fernando chances, he will score.
“I don’t think it’s anything to do with Fernando, just that we are not creating enough for him. History shows if you do give him the service, you’ve got a 25 to 30-goal striker. There is nothing to worry about.”
Before suggesting that some new blood could make all the difference in January.
“The main thing is probably signing as good a player as possible. That could make the real difference.” (Daily Mail)
