da doce: Leeds are desperately short of options at the back, and the sudden availability of Everton youngster Mason Holgate should have the alarm bells ringing at Elland Road.
What’s the story?
According to The Mirror, Holgate will leave Everton in January in search of first team football.
The 22 year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Goodison thanks to the signings of Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina as well as the resurgence of Michael Keane.
The report claims there is “significant interest” from both the Premier League and the Championship, and the Whites are surely one of the teams with their hat in the ring.
The England Under-21 international signed a long-term deal with the Toffees last season, so a loan move to Elland Road in January could be a win-win for all parties.

Do Leeds need him?
With Liam Cooper, Gateano Berardi and Luke Ayling all out until 2019, Marcelo Bielsa has just one fit senior centre back at his disposal in Pontus Jansson.
The Swedish international also has a tendency to pick up little niggling injuries throughout the season, meaning Bielsa could soon be left with just the inexperienced Aapo Halme to partner versatile midfielder Kalvin Phillips in defence.
While some of the injured players will be close to returning by the time the January transfer market opens, Holgate is good enough to nail down a place in the side, and the current injury crisis should prove to the boss that he simply must add one more defender.
Is he good enough?
Holgate has fallen out of favour at Everton, but not down to an extended run of bad performances. Instead, the youngster was actually playing very well until one nightmarish display against West Ham, since which the new signings have taken over his spot.
The 22 year-old has some impressive notches on his belt for such a young player, racking up 48 Everton appearances already, 38 of those coming in the Premier League.
He is extremely quick, reads the game well, and is far better on the ball than any of the Whites’ current centre backs.
The one weakness in his game is his strength and physicality, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem playing alongside the colossal Jansson.
