da dobrowin: Some Manchester United fans chose to protest against the Glazer ownership on Saturday as they beat Norwich City 4-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday.
da bet nacional: Per The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, the Stretford End sang, “We want Glazers out” during the victory.
And a number of supporters have been left delighted that supporters are beginning to rebel against the ownership once again.
A short-lived protest titled Love United, Hate Glazer, was begun after they took over the club but it appears that it is again on the agenda of United supporters.
Fans are right to be making their feelings known.
The Glazers have financed some major deals in recent years – including the then-world record purchase of Paul Pogba from Juventus – but they have also saddled the club with a huge amount of debt.
The big fat United quiz of 2019 – how much do you remember about the last year at Man Utd?
Per Goal, £525m worth of debt was loaded onto the club when the Glazers took over and they currently owe £203.6m.
Add to that a fallow period when it comes to the Premier League title – they haven’t won it since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure – and a number of questionable managerial appointments, notably David Moyes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and one has to think that the fans are right to be rebelling.
This is a club that should be competing for the highest honours in world football but they were fifth, a staggering 24 points behind Liverpool, after their win over Norwich.
Simply put, that’s not good enough, especially when one considers the cost of some of their signings – last summer alone saw the club spend over £140m.
It is about time supporters started showing their displeasure.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has delivered a worrying update on United’s transfer plans.
